PSHE at Kingsholm C of E Primary School and Nursery
PHSE is an important part of our curriculum and timetabled weekly. We use Jigsaw to plan, deliver and resource lessons. Jigsaw is a comprehensive, evidence-based, online curriculum programme that supports the personal, social, health, and emotional development of children aged 3 to 16 years.
With mindfulness at its core, Jigsaw helps children and young people build emotional resilience, self-awareness, and essential life skills, preparing them for success in school and beyond.
The approach integrates PSHE with social-emotional learning (SEL), ensuring children not only learn important topics but also how to apply them. The spiral structure builds skills year by year, adapting to each child’s needs. The Jigsaw curriculum also provides us our age appropriate Relationships Sex Health Education ( RSHE) units for each year group.
To further strengthen our commitment to safeguarding our children we supplement the programme with additional teaching. We also use ‘My Happy Mind’ to support children’s mental wellbeing.
