As we come to the end of the Autumn term, we find oursleves reflecting on what we have achieved together so far this year. I want to thank parents/carers, staff and children for their support and kindness during what has been a different term than expected. We value all of your kind messages for Mrs Matthews and have passed these all on.

We have been incredibly proud of the children and all they have achieved. The school continues to enrich the children's curriculum and experiences through trips, art work and forest classroom. The displays created by staff have really showcased the talents of your children and we look forward to sharing this with you during the art exhibition next term. The children have fully embraced and loved their forest classroom activities, where they have been supported and guided in taking new risks when using sharp tools and making fires. Learning for your children, has moved at pace using different devices. The implementation of tablets to support learning has seen the children engage in new and exciting programmes and apps to help them acquire new and vital knowledge and skills. Funding for new provisions in school, such as the sensory room, has further helped to increase support for your children and ensure all children's needs are met. 

The Christmas events that have taken place over the last fornight have been a real moment of celebration. We have seen some of our youngest learners confidently perform songs and nativities to you all. This has been a real highlight! Our valued link with St Catharines have taken many forms during the term, culminating in a special Christingle service and support for our community through the donation of funds and Christmas hampers. We are incredibly grateful for what the St Catharine's congregation do to support the school. 

Recent circumstances have reinforced for us all the importance and value of family and friends. Spending time together has never been more important. We wish you all a Happy Christmas. We hope that 2025 is a healthy year for everyone.

As you will have read, there some staffing changes in January that have been communicated in a recent letter to all parents/carers. 

Welcome:

Ms Eskain: Yellow Class

Mr Hattrick: 1M

Mrs Ridler: 6W

Farewell:

It is always sad to loose people that have been with school for a long time but we recognise that all our staff have their own families and journeys to go on.

Mrs McIlveen: A goodbye to our 2M teacher who is exploring a cover teaching role. Mrs McIlveen has been with us for 16 years and has had a positive impact upon so many children across the school. We wish her all the very best for her future and thank her for everything she has done here. 

Mrs Upton: Has undertaken many roles at the school and is now venturing into something new within Alternative Provision. Mrs Upton has been with us since 2014 and we thank her for everything she has done during this time. 

Miss Williams: Is pursuing teaching younger children at Beeches Green Primary and we wish her all the best as she continues in her early career, teaching role. 

Miss McLaughlan: Is taking a break from class teaching and is exploring a supply role before returning full time to a school environment.

Mrs Fowke: Has been a dedicated member of our admin team since 2015. She has not only supported the school as part of her role but governors too. We thank her for everything she has done to support the team and children.
