School Trips / Experiences
We've had more great trips and experiences over the past couple of weeks.
Year 6 children performed at the annual Remembrance assembly where their parents and carers were invited to attend. It was a lovely assembly and thank you to our families who were able to come.
The Year 2 trip to the Waterways museum went ahead and was a great success. Unfortunately, due to winter now upon us, the boat trip season is over and we hope to reschedule the children's boat trip next year when they run again.
Our Years 4,5 and 6 watched the Hobgoblin Theatre Company perform ' The Last Post '
Our Year 5 children took park in a Viking Experience Day which was enjoyable for all involved.
Please see the photos below.
Y5 Viking Experience
On Wednesday 8th November 2023, Year 5 were visited by a Viking warrior who showed us interesting weapons which were used in warfare, we were amazed by how heavy the weapons were! We had lots of fun acting out battle scenes using Viking warrior chants. We also learnt about Viking foods through a game, and we were able to quiz our Viking warrior with questions all about the Vikings.
'The Last Post' Production by the Hobgoblin Theatre
To tie in with our History showcase and the recent Remembrance period, the Year 4, 5 and 6 children watched a performance by the Hobgoblin Theatre Company - The Last Post. Please see the attached Production Pack for more information.
Year 2 Waterways Museum
Hooray for sunshine. After the disappointment of having to cancel the Year 2 Waterways Museum last month, we were delighted to reschedule it and what a contrast in the weather! Depsite the chill in the air, the sun was shining and the children had a wonderful day. They enjoyed the workshop, making their own industrial revolution canal exploring the elements needed for transportation of goods. They got to explore the museum looking at artefacts from over 200 years ago that were used to build the canal. They loved seeing the roses and castles painted on the narrowboats, jugs and buckets, that we have been learning about in art. Children also learnt about life on a narrowboat during the industrial revolution and got to dress up as working people that would have lived on them. The children were very well behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the day, and they still all had a smile on their faces after the long walk back.
Thank you to our parents / carers and volunteers who accommpanied the children on this trip.
