School Experiences / Trips
Kingsholm Star's Afternoon Tea
We decided to try a new approach to the Kingsholm Star awards by rewarding the children from Term 4 with an Afternoon Tea that they all shared together, rather than having a key stage lunch on different days.
The tables were set outside as the weather was favourable and as you will see from the photos, the children enjoyed themselves and the delicious food, as very little was left. Once again well done to all our Kingsholm Stars for all their hard work shown in Term 4. The children said it was the best day they had had in school, ever!
Year 5 - Explorer Dome
Our Year 5 children were able to explore our planet, moon, sun and solar system. They learned how they move and what to look for and see in the sky. The children were able to star-spot, discover the constellations as they appear at night and listened to the stories behind them, understanding more about the gods and heroes, myths and monsters from Ancient Greece.
Please see the link to the Explorer Dome website.
Year 1 Mini Farm Experience
The children had a wonderful experience today when Stroud Mini Farm came to visit. The children had an exciting opportunity to meet, feed and brush the donkeys ( Daphne and Denzel) who seem to enjoy eating the grass and being stroked. The lambs were equally as lovely. They ranged in age from 4 days to 2 months. The children if they wanted to, could hold, stroke and feed the lambs. As you will see from the photos we all had a fabulous time. The visit was arranged to celebrate and further extend the children's learning which they completed last term during the Science unit, which was based on animals.

Parental Support Programme
HOW CAN WE HELP YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES?
We want to help you find support for issues that are of importance to you as parents/carers. We understand that there will be things you and your children find challenging.
We have three focus areas for this term that parents/carers and children have said they would like help with. Next year (September 24 - July 25), we would like to plan a programme of support with you. As a school, we have access to statutory and voluntary advisors we can contact and invite in who may be able to help.
Come along to one of our sessions, let us know what you think, and help us plan for future sessions.
We look forward to seeing you there.
