Acting Headteacher's Message

Dear Parents / Carers,

As we approach the end of this term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on all that has been achieved so far this year and extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your continued support.

This term has been filled with forest school opportunities, University, World Book Day, Extreme Read Challenges and a History curriculum focus for our children. We have seen their enthusiasm and hard work shine through in various activities, projects, and achievements. 

As always, we are looking forward to the exciting activities and learning opportunities that lie ahead in the next term. The Summer Term will be filled with lots of opportunities for you to join us for Night at the Museum (History Curriculum Share) Sports Days, Year 6 Leavers events, productions and family picnic. 

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter! May it be filled with peace, happiness, and time spent with loved ones.

Thank you for being a part of our school community, and I look forward to seeing you after the break.

A large number of pupils are arriving via the office in the mornings.

Please arrive via the school playground in plenty of time to line up with the teacher and be in class for morning registration. 

Being late for school disrupts learning for pupils in the classroom and staff. It can have a negative impact on individual pupil confidence. 
The school gates are closed promptly at 8.50am.
 

Holiday requests during term time

Holidays during term time cannot be authorised except where it is believed there are “exceptional circumstances”. 

Taking unauthorised holidays in term time can lead to penalty fines being issued by the Local Authority. Please avoid this! Please do not take planned time off during the school term time.

 

Medical Appointments

Please make medical appointments outside of school hours wherever possible. We appreciate that sometimes this can be difficult. 

If an appointment has to be made during the school day, please inform the school office giving as much notice as possible.

Forest School News

Hello Kingsholm families and friends,

A lovely last 2 weeks of Forest School in beautiful spring sunshine. We have climbed, built some amazing structures and dens, cooking pancakes and foraging for nettles and trying nettle crisps. It's been a brilliant adventuresome term.

Wishing all you a lovely Easter break with lots of chocolatey fun together!

Dingley's Promise

We are thrilled to announce that our Nursery has been awarded the Dingley's Promise, 'Mark of Achievement' to reflect their passion and commitment to inclusion in the early years. This award recognises the commitment from the team to training and their dedication to transforming the lives of children with SEND through inclusive practice. Well done Nursery!

Rainbow Raffle

The Rainbow Raffle was drawn by the bandstand at the end of the school day today,  where Parents/Carers and children came along in glorious sunshine to watch the 22 hampers be raffled off.

Many thanks to everyone who generously donated items and who bought tickets.  £674 was raised which is an incredible amount.

We would also like to take this opportunity to THANK our incredible PTFA who work tirelessly to make this all possible.

Allotment Volunteers

We are very fortunate to have a large group of volunteers from the 'Wearefood' Charity who are working brilliantly to transform our allotment area.

They have been working incredibly hard, as you can see the transformation already is astonishing, and we cannot wait for the school community to reap the benefits of all their generous hard work.  

Spring iRock Concert

Well done to our wonderful iRockers who sang and played with great enthusiasm.  It's certainly very nerve-racking to be up on stage and perform to an audience, however, the child were fantastic and performed songs such as ' Never gonna give you up, Budapest, As it was, Stressed out and Seven Nation Army.

Thank You St Catharine's Church

We have some beautiful new books in school, thanks to the generosity of our friends at St Catharine's Church. Next term, they will be introduced to the children as part of some special worship sessions and when classes develop their in- class reflection displays. They reflect our commitment to sharing great stories and thought-provoking non- fiction with our children through beautifully illustrated books and we know our children will love reading them both next term and in the future. Many, many thanks to Lucy Bowdler and all our friends at St Catharine's for this lovely gift.

 

Extreme Reader Competition Winners

Our Extreme Readers are looking forward to reading in the sun over the Easter Holidays. They each chose a book as a prize, we placed the orders and just in time for the holiday's, their prizes have arrived.

Mr Blake wanted to thank all the children who took part in the Gloucester School Partnership annual Shakespeare performance of Twelfth Night.  All the children were brilliant !
