Acting Headteacher's Message
Dear Parents / Carers,
It has been wonderful to have the children back after the Easter break. They have all developed and matured in so many different ways already during the academic year, as we now embark on the Summer term.
The start of term's Kingsholm Star worship is always a privilege and positive way to start the next phase.
You will now be noticing transformational changes to our outdoor spaces. The work on the allotment space has been a highlight, with further plans for forest classroom and outdoor play development over the next few weeks. We can not wait to share these with you.
This half term is a short and very busy period, with SATs, however we are incredibly well prepared for the events ahead and look forward to celebrating the children's achievements in lots of ways next term.

Forest School News
Hello Kingsholm families and friends,
We have had a lovely first 2 weeks back with children choosing to work with tools, building a wigwam and an air raid shelter. We have woven a willow screen wall and found the most enormous fungi!

Children's Bingo 22nd May 2-3pm
This is a new event devised by our lovely PTFA, who are looking (With the help of your generous donations) to double the funds they were able to give to school last year, for this school year. They are hoping to raise sufficient money to help pay for outdoor play structures for both playgrounds as well as an outdoor gym. Your help with this is really appreciated and a huge thank you to everyone who has bought tickets for their children to play.
How it works:
Reception and Year 1 will have the opportunity to play 3 games of Bingo in class for £1 per child. (This will be in class)
Y2 - Y6, can buy up to 18 games for £6. (£1 = 3 games, £2 = 6 games etc) This will be in Oak Hall
Super prizes will be given for 'FULL HOUSES', if all the numbers on a child's game are called. (We may have more than 1 winner, per game, but this has been allowed for).
You can buy the bingo games on parentpay and this will remain open until Monday 19th (End of the day), any late sales post this will need to be card payments at the office.
A huge thank you to the PTFA, to all the local businesses who have generously supported this event, and of course our resident expert Bingo Caller, Mrs Baldwin.
Allotment Volunteers - 'Weareprojectgrow'
We are very fortunate to have a large group of volunteers from the 'Weareprojectgrow' Charity who are working brilliantly to transform our allotment area.
They have been working incredibly hard, as you can see the transformation already is astonishing, and we cannot wait for the school community to reap the benefits of all their generous hard work.
The volunteers come in every Tuesday and Friday afternoon, rain or shine, and are helped by our children.
Project Grow is a social enterprise plant nursery + growing space that provides plants and produce to community organisations that feed their local communities, to food banks, food pantries and other food projects. They grow seasonal plants and produce without the use of herbicides, pesticides, and any other chemicals. They only use peat-free soil, grow in raised and no-dig beds and ensure we follow mother nature’s seasonal cycle.
Project Grow have kindly agreed to work alongside us and support our school community. We have ambitious outdoor plans, the allotment and our Forest Classroom are just the beginning.
Storytelling Workshop
We held two storytelling workshops yesterday, led by our Acting Deputy Head Teacher, Francesca Beers, which explored how we use soryt telling in our English lessons to help children learn. We also shared the reading spine which can be found on the website.

Super feedback from the parents who attended, thank you all for coming. We will be putting a voice over powerpoint on the website and will let you know when this is available.
Save the Date - Summer Celebration 20th June
A date for your diaries!
We are holding a special Summer Celebration on the 20th June. This is a combined event which will include Sports Day in the morning, Family Picnic and some additional activities/games for children in the afternoon. This will be the final fundraiser of the year, the PTFA will be selling tokens again for the activities/ice creams and cakes.

Kingsholm Star Afternoon Tea
Well done once again to our Term 4's Kingsholm Stars who enjoyed their well deserved Afternoon Tea outside last week. Despite the Sunny yet slightly windy conditions, the children and invited staff members enjoyed the refreshments on offer. We hope you enjoy seeing the photographs.

Prayer for School
Lindsey Power, the youth and family connections worker at St Catharine's church, is holding a Christian 'Prayer for school' zoom session on Thursday 15th May from 7:00pm until 8:00pm.
