Dear parents/carers,

It has been an incredibly busy but a wonderful two weeks in school where we have had lots of opportunities to come together as a community. Sports Day and the family picnic have been huge highlights. Thank you for joining us and making this event such a success. 

Any opportunity to foster children's talents and aspirations are important to us. The Drama Production has been just one example of this. The children were phenomenal, and the show was a polished and inclusive success. A huge thank you to all of the staff involved who have so generously given their time. 

Today you will be informed of where the children will be transitioning too in September and who their trusted adults will be. We are very excited about the journey ahead. Transfer day will allow the children to spend time and develop relationships with new teachers. The only sad aspect of Transfer day will be losing our wonderful Year 6 cohort who we look forward to reminiscing with and celebrating their Kingsholm journey over the next two weeks. 

I look forward to seeing you at events during our final two weeks of the year.

A huge thank you to all the parents and families who supported the Summer Celebration last Friday after Sports Day. It was lovely to see so many people and we hope the children enjoyed the activities and food stalls we had.

We will give you an update in the final newsletter of the academic year what all the funds you have generously donated, are being spent on.

The PTFA

With this glorious weather the fruit, vegetables and flowers are growing fast. We have received a donation of plants which we hope to grow on and then be able to share with you all in the Autumn Term.

We are really enjoying working with your children, they are very green fingered and learning so much.

The children had a fantastic time at Garden Group planting seeds and plants, watering the growing things, tasting veg and herbs.  They drew pictures of their favourite plants in their garden journals and helped to move wood chip mulch over the garden.  They even had a go at burying Hannah, one of our volunteers! Lots of fun and learning for all.  Huge thank yous to our wonderful volunteers who make it possible for the children to have these fantastic experiences.

• Transfer Day - 3 July Where the children will visit their new classrooms and meet their new teachers.

• Air ambulance visit - you may have seen / read about are unexpected mechanical vistor earlier in the week, when an air ambulance had to use our school field whilst responding to an emergency.  Thankfully it wasn't for any of our children / staff members and we beleive the intended casualty was treated and not required to travel in the helicopter.  This is the third time such an event has occurred here at school. The children were fascinated and enjoyed watching the helicopter land and take off.

• Pupil Parliament. (Pupil Voice) We are really delighted to relaunch our Pupil Parliament for the next academic year. This compromises Y6 Ministers and School Councillors from Y2-5, with valuable additional input from Y1, Reception and Nursery children. Our current Y5's are busily writing their applications to be considered as a Minister. We have changed the focus areas which are now: Outdoors, Digital, Personal Development and School Council and will appoint 3 ministers per area. We have produced a job description and person specification for these important roles, and will keep you posted with how this develops. The children's voices are really important to help us map the future of our school and we are really looking forward to working with them on this.

• End of Term - A reminder to all parents / carers - at the end of Main Term ( Term 2 - Christmas, Term 4 - Easter and Term 6 - Summer ) School finishes at the earlier time of 1:15 / 1:20pm.
