Dear parents/carers and families,

It has been a lovely two weeks in school, especially watching how well the Reception children have settled into their new environment and routines. The relationships they are developing now, with their adults, will support them to thrive with us here at Kingsholm. 

During the first half of the Autumn, we will be looking forward to several school events. Harvest being one such occasion. Details below outline how you can support our families and community during this time as we explore the meaning and value of Harvest with the children. 

During this week, children across the school have been listening to our ministers' applications for our Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister roles. It was wonderful to hear the children's thoughts on how we can develop our school further, from playground provision to looking after the environment. The children are keen to identify and share how we all have a role in shaping Kingsholm from our curriculum to clubs. The children's votes have been counted and I am thrilled to announce that Dhruv Sai Pyler will be our Prime Minister and Isabelle Hall our Deputy Prime Minister. Congratulations both on your appointments and upcoming hard work on behalf of the school community. I look forward to working with you both and our school council over the coming weeks. 

Finally, we have a competition that we are running over the next two weeks for children to design a house shield for their house teams (Westgate, Southgate, Northgate and Eastgate). While time will be offered in school for the children to sketch their thoughts, they are welcome to take templates home and add further detail, before submitting their design. We look forward to seeing what ideas the children have and will share with you which designs have been selected to represent our House Teams over the coming weeks.

Hello families,

We have had a very busy two weeks at Forest School this week!  We have been exploring the beginning of autumn and collecting the colourful leaves that the trees are dropping as they get ready to sleep over winter.  Some of the children have been building resilience with the tricky job of making a spark with our fire steels. We have made some dye with elderberries and used a lovely load of branches trimmed from our school fir tree.  We have had relaxing art sessions capturing autumn colour and enjoyed spending time with our friends, strengthening our social skills.

Hi Parents and Carers,

We just want to let you know about the play equipment that is being put in on the field this week. It has been going amazingly well and we cannot wait until it is finally finished and the children are able to use it. We are very glad that we had the privilege of speaking to the installers and watching the progress. 

There will be a; climbing frame, ropes, balance beams, a clatter bridge, a scramble net, log traverse, a lily pad traverse and finally some balancing ropes. It is really exciting. 80% has been made by hand and it has gone up so quickly. We had a concrete delivery today, saw that 34 bolts, 31 posts and a whole heap of equipment has been delivered and used.

We cannot wait for you to see the finished results next week after the safety flooring has also been installed. We are really grateful to all the donations we have received from the PTFA events last year, and grants from the City Council and other donors.

We have all been very excited to see the new adventure playground equipment being installed this week. It is not quite ready, however the children shouldn't have too much longer to wait.

The School Immunisation team are due to visit us on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th October to deliver the flu vaccinations to all consented students.

Please complete the online form either consenting or declining the offer, this will prevent further contact from the team.
