Forest School

Hello from Forest School!

It was wonderful that so many children brought their adults to show them our Forest School area in Tom’s Forest this Wednesday during our fantastic Art show. I was lucky to have some very thoughtful and interesting conversations with lots of parents about Forest School and the many benefits it provides for our children.

We have had a busy couple of weeks with our next 7 groups settling in to the site and learning how to be safe. All the children have enjoyed using the slack line (tightrope) and climbing trees. Some have been making a mud café. Others have been using tools and making journey sticks, and making mud/clay art. We also had a scavenger hunt to identify leaves using our Field guides.

Best wishes for a safe if windy weekend,

Kate Shepherd, Forest School Leader

Tea Party - Kingsholm Star Celebration

We had a wonderful time recognising children who had been awarded their Kingsholm Star at the beginning of this term. All of these children were identified by adults for modelling our 3Bs.

Thank you to the catering team for their treats. The watermelon and chocolate cake were definitely favourites.

Art Exhibition

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our art exhibition. Your presence and support mean so much to the children and to our school community.

A huge well done to the children for their incredible creativity and hard work! Their amazing artwork showcased their skill and imagination. We couldn’t be prouder of what they have achieved. It was truly inspiring to see their efforts displayed so beautifully, and your encouragement helps to make these moments even more special for them.

iRock

What a fantastic iRock concert by our talented young musicians! The performers thrilled our parent/carer audience as well as attending classes, who particularly enjoyed singing along to familiar pop songs. From start to finish, it was a joy to see their enthusiasm and love for music shine through.

Congratulations to all the children who performed—you truly put on a show to remember! Your commitment to rehearsals and your ability to perform with such confidence was wonderful to see.

Due to the members of staff engrossed in the concert, unfortunately we didn't capture any photos of the performances, however we have a few here of the children during their weekly iRock sessions.

University

The children were excited to begin this term's university modules. The focus during this half term is our 'umbrella university'. Each year group have a different focus: Year 2 are focusing on something creative, Y3 are developing a specific life skill, Year 4 are working with local charities, Y5 are working to support an aspect of our local community and Year 6 are completing an enterprise project. Keep a look out on ClassDojo for any updates on the modules.

Here are some examples: creative sessions with a music focus with Mr Prosser and cooking, starting with chopping skills with Mrs Bishop. We look forward to sharing more of these over the coming weeks.
