Headteacher's Message
Dear Parents/Carers,
Another busy week at Kingsholm! Thank goodness the weather has been kind, if not a little warm, for our sports days this week. So often cancellations have to be considered but Thursday and Friday were amazing. A huge thank you to all the staff and in particular Mr Duffy who have taken time to organise and practice with the children so that the events ran smoothly.
I had never seen a Family Picnic before - wow, what a wonderful happy occasion it was. Absolutely lovely to see so many of our school community there enjoying time together and of course the glorious weather. Big thank you to the PTFA for all their hard work today and at all the other events this year.
Also, a huge thank you to parents for their support - I know not everyone is able to come - but for those that have the capacity it means so much to our little people.
In other news - You will have now received a letter regarding our upcoming SIAMs visit next Thursday. This is an important event for the school and one where an Inspector will look at the school, talk with parents, staff, children and Governors regarding the vision, values and Christian Ethos that underpins all that we do. We are so proud of our work in these areas and the inclusivity we show for all our children and am hoping that the findings of the inspection will reflect this. Once the report is published this will be shared with you.
And finally... I have no idea whether this is a reflection of my 'Dad Dancing' or song choices but Fun-time Friday will be led, by Y6 next week - Get to the playground nice and early to join in!
Kind Regards
Tony Larner

Focus Area
Each fortnight the newsletter will have a focus area which the school has identified linked to incidents either in school, the local community or that form part of the national agenda. Hopefully, these will help inform parents/carers and guide to advice and support if needed.

Forest Classroom News
Hello Forest School families and friends,
The last 2 weeks have alternated between heavy rain and glorious sun, typical British summer weather. We haven't let it stop us getting on with some fantastic learning. We have jumped in puddles and made herbal tea using herbs the children chose from the school garden. Lots of imaginative life play has been happening with shops selling sticks online, restaurants and take aways. Snails have been herded, investigated and given leafy homes. We spotted a frog which was hugely exciting, unfortunately it moved quicker than we could follow and hopped away into the undergrowth where it stayed. We made daisy chains in the sun and did some daisy hairdressing. We have also made Japanese Kumihimo cords as friendship bracelets and some are attempting knitting!
Kind regards,
Kate Shepherd
