Welcome back everyone! It’s hard to believe it has already been two busy weeks since returning from the October break. The change in the weather has certainly reminded us that winter is on its way, but we’ve had plenty of lovely events to keep our spirits high.

We started the term with our Kingsholm Star Worship and tea party, celebrating those children who have been nominated as role models for representing our 3Bs so beautifully. It was a real joy to recognise their kindness, respectfulness, and be your best attitude — they truly embody what it means to be part of the Kingsholm community.

Our Year 6 children and staff team led a moving and thoughtful Remembrance Day worship, honouring those who have served and helping us all reflect on the importance of peace and gratitude.

With Children in Need on our screens this evening, we’re feeling especially proud of our Year 5 pupils, who visited Kingsholm Stadium to support BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s three-legged challenge, contributing to the incredible goal of walking 1,000 miles around the UK! It was such a fun event — and I even managed to get a picture with Pudsey himself!

This weekend, we’re looking forward to seeing our Year 3 children taking part in the Gloucestershire Lantern Parade and Christmas Light Switch-On. A big thank you to the Year 3 team and adults for supporting the children in this magical community event — we hope everyone enjoys a wonderful evening.

As December fast approaches, there’s plenty of festive fun ahead, and we can’t wait to celebrate the next few weeks together as a school community.

Hello Forest School families and friends,

A great first two weeks for our Forest School classes.  There has been lots of play with water and mud exploring the sensory world, making gardens and dens.  We started a group project to build a temporary woven wall between 2 trees on site.  All the Y1, Y3, afternoon groups and Forest Families after school group have helped to build a truly beautiful art work with willow sticks and autumn leaves.  The children have really thought about how to construct things strongly  and considered the placement of windows.  Knot tying is a new skill too.  Some children have made willow circles too.  Y3 have named it The Workshop and set up a very professional crafting business with bosses, breaks, meetings and lanyards. 

The weather is now very changeable and rain is more likely so it would be great if you could add a waterproof coat  and wellingtons to your child's kit please.

We are absolutely delighted to have had a special school song written for us, in collaboration with the children and staff. This has been made possible by the generosity of St Catharine's Church.
