Collective Worship

Our daily Christian based worship fosters the children’s spiritual development and builds on their experiences in RE teaching. Worship is led by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), members of the teaching staff, our Worship team or visiting clergy.

Coming together each day allows us to revisit the school vision and values on a daily basis. There are also many good and bad things happening in the world and collective worship is an excellent opportunity to help children to understand them and how they are affected.

Monday: Worship and celebration, led by Headteacher

Tuesday: Worship through exploring values, led by SLT

Wednesday: Worship in song, led by two teaching staff

Thursday: Worship with our visitors, led by visiting clergy and others

Friday: Class/year group worship

Each act of worship is based around the term's Christian value. Sometimes we share Bible stories, stories from other faiths or other stories which help us to explore the value further. We also sing songs, some of which are 'iSingPOP' songs. We have the opportunity for quiet reflection as well as guided prayer. We ensure our worship and prayer life is deeply engaging and provides children the opportunity to be closer to God. Children have written prayers for each of our values which are displayed in a prayer book.

Open the Book

As well as clergy from local churches, we also have an Open the Book team who come in and act out bible stories, bringing them alive for our children.

Prayer Requests

As a Christian school we believe in the power of prayer. If you have any concerns, whether for yourself or someone close to you, please come into the school spiritual garden. Here you will find our prayer box. Feel free to use the cards provided to complete a prayer request and place it inside the box. It will be passed onto St Catharine's church, where your request will be prayed for in one of their services.
