Our Church Links

Here are some of the visitors from a range of local churches, who come in regularly to help us with our worship on a Thursday (Visitor assembly).

Open the Book

As well as clergy from local churches, we also have an Open the Book team made up of people from St Catharine's  who come in to take Key Stage 1 assemblies on a Thursday.

Explore Christmas

Each December we go to St Catharine's church to experience their 'Explore Christmas' prayer stations. It's amazing and our Year 5 children do a great job leading some of the stations. The staff and children gain so much from these sessions.

Christingle Service

In December Year's 2 - 6 went to St Catharine's church for our Christingle service led by Rev. John Itumu and Helen. Reception and Year 1 had a similar service at school with David Whale the Curate at St Catharine's.

We learnt about what the 'Christingle Candle' means, listened to parts of the Christmas story and were supported by the choir as we sung a variety of Christmas hymns.

If you would like to find out more about  services at St Catharine's please visit their website (link above)

Rugby World Cup Prayer Space

To celebrate the Rugby World Cup being on our doorstep the children in Year 2 to Year 6 all had the opportunity to exerience our themed prayer space. The Worship Team, alongside Helen from St Catharine's, planned creative activities to explore the Rugby Football Union's values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportmanship.

Parents also had the opportunity to experience the prayer space.

Harvest

In October Rev'd John Itumu and Helen McGeoch from St Catharines came in to help Year 5 lead our Harvest festival. We are so impressed with the huge amount of food that was brought into school. We donated the food to the local Food Bank.

Experience Easter

All of the children from Year 1 to Year 6 went to St Catharine's Church for 'Experience Easter'. Pupil Parliament helped Helen to decide what would happen at the different stations.
